If you are considering cosmetic breast enlargement, you may be looking for assurance that (1) your implants will look natural and (2) the scars will be inconspicuous. In designing your implant procedure, I make it a priority to leave the smallest amount of evidence possible that surgery took place.
For women who choose saline implants, the incision will be smaller because we insert the implant in folded and unfilled. Then we fill it with saline when it is in place. For patients who choose silicone implants, you can expect a larger incision because the implant is inserted after it is filled to your desired cup size.
Four possible incision sites
- Inframammary - in the breast fold
- Axillary - under the arm
- Periareolar - around the nipple
- TUBA - transumbilical, (belly button incision)
There are unique benefits to each incision site, and I will go over the pros and cons of each. The incision size and location depends on the size and type of implant being inserted, as well as the chosen placement of the implant. Breast implants may be placed either under both the chest muscle and breast tissue, or above the muscle and under the breast tissue.
I will discuss all the possible breast augmentation options with you during your cosmetic consultation. Together we'll examine your beauty goals and choose the implant type, implant size, incision site, and implant placement that will give you the results you are looking for. My goal is to give you a natural-looking breast augmentation that perfectly complements your figure.
