A nipple reduction is performed by removing a segment of the base of
the actual nipple and resewing the parts together
or actually removal of the top of the nipple.
The size and projection of the actual nipple may
also be reduced. The nipple elongates with pregnancy
and especially after breast feeding. This is performed
as an outpatient and even under a local nerve block
type of anesthesia.
